While living in Melbourne, Australia, I had the privilege of working at the creative agency Grin Creative. Renowned for its expertise in publications, the agency also collaborated with prominent brands such as Australian Made, Fly Solomons, and Connect to Country, delivering innovative and impactful creative solutions.

Brief

Get Lost Magazine is the flagship publication of Grin Creative, known for its distinctive voice and adventurous spirit. After nearly two decades as a celebrated print magazine, it transitioned to a dynamic digital format in 2021. During my tenure at Grin Creative, I contributed to several editions, crafting unique font designs for titles and curating compelling color palettes tailored to individual articles. Each page was meticulously designed to ensure a seamless and visually engaging experience across web, tablet, and mobile platforms.

Outcome

The tone of the magazine is vibrant, free-spirited, and playful, and this energy is fully reflected in its design. Each feature is treated as a unique creative canvas, with a distinct look and feel tailored to the theme of the article. This approach allows for a high level of creative freedom, resulting in designs that are as dynamic and engaging as the content itself. Custom colour schemes and carefully selected typography are thoughtfully integrated into each feature, maintaining a consistent visual narrative throughout the article. The layout and typesetting are also adjusted to complement the flow of the text, ensuring that every story is not only visually appealing but also easy to read and intuitively structured. This meticulous attention to detail elevates the overall reading experience, making the magazine as compelling to explore as the adventures it celebrates.
